There are many materials for filter cloth of filter press. We all know that the material of filter cloth is to cater for different kinds of filtrate. Therefore, if you want to choose the filter cloth correctly, you should first know the nature of the filtrate, and then determine which kind of filter cloth is needed. Filter press is a kind of mechanical equipment which uses a special filter medium to exert certain pressure on the object to make the liquid dialysis out. It is a common solid-liquid separation equipment. It is widely used in chemical, pharmaceutical, metallurgy, dyestuff, food, brewing, ceramics and environmental protection industries.     

The specific methods are as follows:

1. Filter cloth is selected for the acidity and alkalinity of filtrate. Polyester filter cloth can be selected if the filtrate is strongly acidic, vinylon filter cloth can be selected for strong alkali filtrate, and polypropylene filter cloth can be used for filtrate with both acid and alkali.     

2. Select filter cloth according to filtrate temperature. If filtrate temperature is high, polyester filter cloth can be selected.     

3. Select the filter cloth according to the properties of the filter residue. The rate of filtering residue is one of the factors affecting the working efficiency of the filter press. If the filter residue is sticky, you can choose the single filament filter cloth or the satin woven filter cloth. There are pitting and boss on the surface of the filter plate of sand washing and pressure filter to support the filter cloth. There are through holes in the center and corner of the filter plate. After assembly, a complete channel can be formed to pass in the suspension, washing water and extract filtrate. There are handles on both sides of the filter plate to support on the beam, and the filter plate is pressed by the pressing device. The filter cloth between the filter plates plays a sealing role.

4. Select filter cloth according to the shape of filter residue. The filter residue is irregular, and the wear of filter cloth is relatively large. At this time, polyester filter cloth or warp fiber filter cloth can be selected. A group of filter chambers is formed by alternately arranged filter plates and filter frames of plate and frame filter press. The surface of the filter plate is grooved, and its protruding part is used to support the filter cloth. There are through holes on the corners of the filter frame and the filter plate, which form a complete channel after assembly, which can pass in the suspension, washing water and lead out the filtrate. A pressure filter with an elastic membrane between the filter plate and the filter cloth of the diaphragm filter press. In the process of use, when the feeding is finished, the high-pressure fluid or gas medium can be injected into the diaphragm plate. At this time, the whole diaphragm will bulge and press the filter cake, thus realizing the further dehydration of the filter cake, which is commonly referred to as press filtration.

The selection of filter cloth mainly considers two aspects: one is the filtering effect of filter cloth on filtrate; the other is the cost of filter cloth. Operators can choose high-efficiency and durable filter cloth according to the actual filtrate.
